The home health physical therapist just left, and he is very pleased. I already have 90-degree flexibility in the knee, and he can push on the knee cap and hear a tapping to the device. This rarely happens this soon after surgery because of the inflammation and swelling. I must acknowledge my son for the use of the ice machine, a device that provides icy water to rotate through a sleeve attached to the swollen area. Ice, ice, baby! He set it up to a timer, which can keep it iced, off and on, all night keeping the swelling and inflammation down.
It was 2 hours past the schedule for pain medications when I woke up in the middle of the night. I didn't feel much pain, but took them anyway. I did not take the opioid, only Tylenol and ibuprofen because today is likely to be when the other medications from surgery wear off.
I have been warned against pushing my activities too far, because that is a prescription for relapse. So, I am just hanging out, icing and doing my exercises.
Thanks to all of you who have reached out giving me encouragement. I am so blessed.
