It’s been two weeks since the total knee replacement surgery on my left leg. After six visits my in-home physical therapy ended today. The goal was a 90-degree bend by two weeks and mine was 106 this morning, one day short of 2 weeks. I am doing well, and IT STILL HURTS. My physical therapist informed me that I have pain because fluid is pooling in my leg. The way out of the pain is walking through it!
Indeed, last week when I contacted the doctor’s nurse requesting a temporary handicap parking pass, she declined. This doctor has indicated that he does not do total knee replacement to have the recipients need handicapped parking passes. The doctor wants me to park as far away as possible in every store parking lot and walk to and through the store instead of using the motorized carts. As crazy as that seems, I do feel better and have less pain if I walk.
Hugs and thanks to all of you who have supported me on this journey. The goal is to hike to the Hike Inn with my grandson next spring.
